Adopt an Author
The Adopt an Author program allows the Library to acquire all of the new titles published by their chosen author. When a new title becomes available, the sponsor is placed 1st in the hold queue, has her/his name placed on a donor plate on the title page, and reimburses the library for the cost of the book. This cost is usually 25-45% off cover price. The Library orders the new titles from adopted authors before the release date so that your adopted author's new book is ready for you to check out the day of release.
We work our program around the adopter. For example, if the adopter loves Janet Evanovich, but only her Stephanie Plum series, the Library can make an arrangement only to adopt that series. Some authors can be adopted in large print format. The Library also offers the option to adopt children’s and young adult literature. Give children gifts that they can share with our community!
Here are some authors that are not currently adopted that we see a lot of the patrons in our community read:
- Danielle Steel
- Nora Roberts
- Freida McFadden
- James Patterson
- Ruth Ware
- Harlen Coben
- Lisa Jackson
- Daniel Silva
- Patricia Cornwell
- Dav Pilkey
- Lee Child
- Clive Cussler
- Craig Johnson
- Emily Henry
- Ali Hazelwood
- Colleen Hoover
- Kristin Hannah
- Sarah J. Maas
- Riley Sager
Please Note:
- The library director, or designee, has the discretion to approve or deny all “adopted” items.
- Once an author or an item is approved to be added to the library’s collection, the patron will pay the library for the cost of each book.
- Books that are no longer relevant to the library may be removed by the Library Director or designated library staff.
- No special privileges will be afforded to the purchaser of the book, except the opportunity to be the first to read the purchased book.
