Library Card

All residents of Iowa are entitled to a Creston Public Library card.  When requesting a card, a person must fill out a registration form with the following information:  Full name, current address, and home phone number.

A new patron must show some form of identification with a current address.  This may be a driver's license, utility bill, etc. A parent or guardian must sign the registration card for a minor under age 16.  The library card must be shown when checking out items.

There is a limit of 4 items the first time a patron checks out with a higher limit thereafter.   A replacement card is available for $2.00.

The standard borrowing period for books, magazines, and audiobooks is three weeks.  DVDs are checked out for three days.  Items not on hold may be renewed twice.  Patrons are responsible for lost or damaged library materials and will be billed for full replacement cost of materials.
